Bishop Linwood Bolton Jr. was born one of 20 children July 15, 1953 in McLain, Mississippi to the late Rev. Linwood & Leola Bolton Sr.  Bishop Bolton was tremendously influenced and inspired by his father's teachings and leadership skills

He accepted Christ as his personal savior at the age of nine.  He served as devotional leader in his home church and many churches acrosss the southern states.  He was also a choir director, faithful leader and follower at the Mt. Gilliard Baptist Church until 1974.  He attended Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, Mississippi for three years majoring in music. In 1973, he a accepted his call to the ministry and preached his first message entitled "I Know For Myself" December 21, 1973.

In 1975 he married Lady Effie Benn-Bolton.  They are the proud parents of five children, Minister L.W. Bolton III (Evangelist Toya), Evangelist Sylvarena Bolton-Funderburke (Prophet Carlton), Minister Jessie Bolton (Evangelist Jennifer Bolton), Minister Tellis Bolton (Sis. Sherece), and Prophetess Minon Bolton.  Bishop Bolton is the grandfather of five: Jessie Jr., Carlton Jr., Serenity, Jaden and Syerra.

In 1974 he became the Pastor of Bethlehem B.C. in Sumrall Mississippi.  With his pheonmental zeal for the Lord, he has since pastored:

In 1976, he released his first national recording at the Greater Bethlehem B.C. in St. Louis, MO where the late Dr. Cleophus Robinson was Pastor.

Bishop Bolton not only preaches the gospel but is also gifted to sing.  Since the age of eight he has been singing with his brothers, once know as the Gospel Soul Singers and The Wearyland Singers but presently known as the National Recording Artist, The Bolton Brothers of McLain, Mississippi.

With the anointing and the favor of the Lord that is on Bishop Bolton's life, he has been blessed to travel extensively throughout the United States (Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Minnesota, Michigan, Massachusetts, Nevada, New York, New Jersey, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, Wisconsin & Washington) He has also traveled to Jerusalem "The Holy Land".
